Your Elite Griddle, like any appliance, may encounter common issues over time. This guide is designed to offer you detailed, step-by-step instructions to address essential repairs that might arise during the lifespan of your versatile backyard, tailgating, and on-the-go companion. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a backyard enthusiast, rest assured that these tips will keep your cooking experiences running smoothly.

Before you begin

When disassembling, reassembling, or installing a new part, it's always a good idea to take photos before you begin. Focus on fasteners, wire placements, and part positions. This will make it easier for you to ensure you are reassembling everything in the right place after you complete the repair.

Valve Manifold System

The valve manifold system in an outdoor griddle is a critical component responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the burners, controlling temperature, and ensuring proper functionality. There are several reasons you might need to replace or repair the valve manifold system:

  • Gas Leaks: If you detect the smell of gas or notice hissing sounds around the valve manifold, there may be a gas leak. Leaks can occur due to wear and tear, corrosion, or damage to the manifold components. Immediate replacement or repair is crucial to prevent safety hazards.

  • Irregular Flame Patterns: An uneven flame pattern or severe inconsistent heating across the griddle surface could indicate issues with the valve manifold. This might be caused by a malfunctioning valve that does not allow an even distribution of gas to the burners.

  • Difficulty in Ignition: If you experience difficulties in igniting the burners or if they do not stay lit, the valve manifold system may be at fault. Issues with the valves or ignition components can hinder the proper functioning of the griddle.

  • Temperature Control Problems: Inaccurate temperature control, where the griddle is not reaching or maintaining the desired temperature, can be a sign of a faulty valve manifold. This can impact the cooking performance and quality of your outdoor griddle.

  • Corrosion and Rust: Exposure to outdoor elements can lead to corrosion and rust on the valve manifold components over time. This corrosion can compromise the integrity of the system, leading to malfunctions and the need for replacement.

  • Age and Wear: Like any mechanical component, the valve manifold system can experience wear and tear over extended periods of use. Aging components may lose their effectiveness, resulting in the need for repair or replacement to maintain optimal performance.

  • Visible Damage: Physical damage to the valve manifold, such as cracks, dents, or broken components, may necessitate immediate replacement. Visual inspection is essential to identify any visible signs of damage.

To replace the valve manifold system:

  1. Begin by removing the knobs by simply pulling them off.
  2. Next, remove the front stainless steel control panel. You can do this by removing the four screws located on the left and right sides.
  3. Once the knobs are removed, you can unscrew the manifold that is located underneath where the knobs were situated.
  4. To install the new manifold system, simply reverse the steps you took to remove the old one.

Windshield Brackets

The steps for assembling windshield brackets on the Elite4B Outdoor Griddle are outlined below. The assembly process for the Elite2B and Elite3B Griddles is the same, with the only difference being that there may be extra brackets and hardware included in the kit. Each Windshield Bracket Kit comes with 4 brackets and M4 x 8mm screws.

To install the windshield brackets:

  1. To begin, open the lid and detach the warming rack support legs from the griddle and tuckaway rack. Then, carefully remove the griddle plate using the provided “JJ” hook handles. Please note: The griddle plate is quite heavy, so handle it with caution.
